This can be an old paragraph or a new paragraph, but it needs 3 quotations! Use your handouts to guide you! You want to "integrate" (blend) your quotations into your own writing.

Write a paragraph answering this question: What changes have you gone through to achieve a goal?

Do you have a topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding sentence?
B. Use your 7 Common Problems handout to look at your sentence structure.
Can you make any changes to your sentences?
What are some common mistakes you make? Can you see them?
C. Type up any changes to your paragraphs and send them to me at my email address.
Due Wednesday, September 24 in class:
Please review the 7 Common Problems.
Read "Understanding English Sentences" pages 164, 165, & the top of page 166.
We will review this together in class, but I want you to be familiar with the information.

Typing again and again. Please SAVE your work on your computer. Then when you make changes, you won't have to type everything all over again. We will continue to work with our writing to strengthen organization and sentence structure.

HOW DO I SEND MY HOMEWORK VIA EMAIL?
Type your homework as a double-spaced word document and attach it in your email to me. Always include a brief message in the body of the email so I know who is writing to me and what assignment is included. Don't know how to create a word document? Don't know how to double-space? Don't know how to attach a document? Don't know the proper way to write an email message? DON'T WORRY! Make an appointment with me. Learning to create & send word documents is part of this class. |
To double-space, open a word document and go to "paragraphs."
Find "line spacing" and click on the drop down menu. Choose "double."
