The weather might be wet and windy, but there are things to do this weekend!
At Fort Abercrombie:
Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9, at 9 a.m. Meet at the Fort Abercrombie Park Office for a walk down to the beach to look at the tidepools. Dress for the weather and wear rubber boots! All ages are welcome for these events. (This is not just for families with kids.)
All Over the Island:
Community Marine Debris (garbage) Clean Up June 8th & 9th (Saturday and Sunday)
Celebrate World Oceans Day with a Community Marine Debris Clean up Effort
This weekend is the Island Trails Network’s Coast Walk – a community effort to clean up Kodiak’s beaches along the road system.
If you want to participate in the Coast Walk on June 8th and 9th, you can go to the parking lot at Little School of Dance, 1220 Rezanof, between 8am and noon on Saturday or Sunday to get a clean up kit (materials you need to collect garbage) and to choose the beach you want to clean.
